Funny Car of the 60s
Quarter-Mile Muscle 8 1/2 x 11, 100 color photos, 200 b/w photos In many ways, drag racing spawned the muscle car era of the '60s. Super Stock drag racing was huge in the early '60s, and the factories encouraged their teams' success by building high-power, lightweight cars that'd be sure hits at the drags. Then in '64, Pontiac introduced the GTO, with the classic "small car, big engine" formula that hot rodders had been using for years. Other manufacturers responded with their own pony cars and muscle cars, and for nearly 10 years, muscle cars ruled the drags. Quarter Mile Muscle covers the development and success of the muscle cars at the drags in all classes, from Super Stock to the early muscle car-based funny cars. Special attention is paid to low-production factory cars that were intended specifically for the drags - cars like the COPO Camaros, Ford Thunderbolts, and the dealer-built specials from Yenko, Motion, and others.
Earth Angel / The Great American Sex Scandal Double Pack Contains: "Earth Angel" and "The Great American Sex Scandal" "Earth Angel" - The perfect nostalgic film, "Earth Angel" showcases plenty of first-rate performances in an ideal combination of whimsy, humor and romance. In 1962, Angela, (Cathy Podewell) is the most popular girl in high school, and she is dating Duke (Erik Estrada), the coolest guy in town. She is also falling in love with Wayne (Mark Hamill), the biggest nerd in town - and a fool in love. However, before her romantic crisis is resolved, Angela dies in a car accident and finds herself in purgatory. Angela's guardian angel, Mr. Tatum (Roddy McDowall), sends her back to earth to perform a mission that will earn her a place in heaven, but Angela doesn't know what the mission is. She returns home to find that 30 years have passed. Wayne is still embittered over his lost teenage love and Duke is recently divorced and falling apart. Judy, Angela's former best friend, has a teenage daughter who is the only one in town who can see Angela's earth angel presence. This apparition from the 60s has her work cut out for her as she tries to figure out her mission, aid her old friends and get acquainted with life in the modern world. "The Great American Sex Scandal" - An all-star - including Bronson Pinchot playing 4 different characters - has a blast in this outrageously funny "who-done-it" comedy about a simple court case that turns into "The Great American Sex Scandal!" Mild and meek accountant Sanford Lagelfost (Bronson Pinchot) has been charged with embezzling $3 million dollars from Trout Industries. A decidedly mixed bag of jurors are chosen to serve on the case, including Eddie (Stephen Baldwin), a waiter; Rita (Heather Locklear), a high-priced call girl; Phil (Alan Thicke), a high-powered businessman; and Abby (Lynn Redgrave), a rabblerousing ex-hippie.
